This course is for both new and experienced Internet users, and aims to show learners how the social Web sites work in clear, simple, non-technical language that anyone can understand.

Who is the Course for?

ANYONE! who wishes to develop their computer skills further and begin to use programs which will enable them to keep in touch with friends and family over the internet.

Do I need any knowledge, skills or qualifications?

Learners must be able to use a computer. The course is aimed at learners who are either relatively new to using the internet or more experienced users who have not yet used any social networking site.

Will I gain any qualifications?

No, the course is not accredited.

How will I learn?

In small well supported groups in a practical setting. All learners have access to an individual computer and will learn by completing group activities, individual activities. One-to-one tutor support will be available throughout.

What could this course lead to?

You could extend your computer knowledge by doing another non-accredited course such as podcasting and blogging or you could start an IT qualification such as an ITQ.

What materials or equipment will I need to provide?

Pens and notepad, lever arch file and plastic wallets to keep notes and handouts organised.

Other Information

This course may appeal to anyone who wishes to develop their computer skills further and begin to use programs which will enable them to keep in touch with friends and family over the internet by messaging, sharing pictures and videos, etc. Learners may also wish to make contact with old friends who they have lost touch with and develop new friendships.
