Course aims

To develop your understanding of how to buy and sell items on ebay.

Course length

8 hours - usually 4 sessions of 2 hours.

Who is this course for?

The course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn how to use ebay to buy and sell goods.

Will I gain any qualifications?

No, but you will receive a BAES certificate of attendance.

Do I need any prior knowledge, skills or qualifications?

Basic IT skills are needed to be able to navigate the internet.

Course content

By the end of the course you will understand:

  • How to set up an ebay account
  • How to set up a PayPal account
  • The key legislative requirements to be aware of when buying and selling on ebay
  • How to buy an item on ebay
  • How to sell an item on ebay.

What could this course lead to?

You could progress onto one of our business and computer courses, such as Book-keeping - Level 1, if you want to develop buying and selling on ebay into a business. You may also consider progression to one of our higher level computer courses such as an ITQ /ECDL qualification.

How will I learn?

You will learn through demonstrations and group discussions, as well as hands-on experience using the ebay site with support from your tutor.

What materials or equipment will I need to provide?

You will need a pen, notepad, and a folder to store hand-outs and completed exercises.

It would be helpful if you have thought about the kind of items you would like to buy and sell on ebay. To achieve success on the course you will need to attend regularly, and on time. If you need to miss a class, please let us know in advance.
