Length of course

2 separate courses of 4 hours each that include classroom based learning and assessments. You do not need to do both courses

Who is the course for?

For people who would like to market their craft products using ICT.

Will I gain any qualifications?

No

Do I need any knowledge, skills or qualifications?

Basic ICT skills are required. You must have a valid active email account. You should also have photographs of your craft products on a memory stick and available via your email account.

Course content

Marketing Materials

By the end of the course you will:

  • Identify positive key features of good marketing materials
  • Gain skills to produce your own marketing materials such as flyers, posters and labels
  • Gain skills allowing you to manipulate images in a simple manner

Social Media

By the end of the course you will:

  • Be aware of common social media platforms and their benefits to market your craft products
  • Learn how to set up your own account on Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
  • Learn how to market your product on social media

How will I learn?

You will be encouraged to participate in group work, individual projects and use ICT to create your own designs.

What could this course lead to?

Opportunities to market your craft products online and through flyers and social media. This course could also lead you to enrol on “Create your own website” course.

Your commitment as a learner

You will need to provide your own writing materials (pen, notebook/folder), a memory stick with your craft photographs, and your own valid and active email account. As this is short course, 100% attendance is required, as success is linked to attendance.
