Make improving your English the start to a brighter future for you and your family

A simple fact of life is the more you learn, the more you can earn. This is especially true when studying English. For many of our learners, achieving a Level 2 or GCSE English qualification is their entry to further education or into a job with real career prospects.

Our aim is to help you get to where you want to be
Early on in your English course, you and your tutor will discuss and create your own Individual Learning Plan. This is a record of why you want to learn, what you wish to achieve and what aspects of English you especially need to improve. All our English courses embed development of study, IT and employability skills to help prepare you for study at higher levels and broaden work prospects.

Don’t worry - it’s not like school
We understand that for many different reasons people don’t always reach their full potential at school. Don’t make that a reason not to have another go at brushing up your English skills. At BAES you’ll find our class sizes are smaller, you’ll be treated like an adult and you will be in a classroom with others who have a similar level of understanding and knowledge as you.

Take your first step to a brighter future

Booking an Initial Assessment
It is important we find out your current level of skills so we can start you off at the right level. The first thing we ask is that you do an Initial Assessment at one of our centres. For GCSE English, you can book this by calling our Information Line on 0121 303 4318. For all other English courses, phone or drop into your local BAES centre from Tuesday 29 August. After we have your assessment results, you will then be offered a place on a course that is at the right level and, as far as possible, at a centre and time that is convenient for you.
