Office Skills - Level 1 Award in Business Administration
Course Aims
This short course which forms ½ of the level 1 Certificate will enable learners to start to consider the skills and knowledge required for success in the Business and Administration sector.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will complete units in
- Starting Work in Business and Administration
- Producing Business Documents
- Personal Skills, Effectiveness and planning for improvement.
Who is the course for?
Learners who wish to prepare for a full course at level 1 or a course at a higher level.
Do I need any knowledge skills or qualifications?
Learners should demonstrate that they have the ability to write clearly in English, they may have gained some qualifications at entry level or some achievement at GCSE grades D-G (preferably to include English or a written subject).
Will I gain any qualifications?
On successful completion learners will achieve a Level 1 Award in Business Administration. Learners will have gained 7 credits. The credits gained on this course may be used towards completing a level 2 course on the Qualifications Credit Framework. Qualifications Credits Framework Value: You will gain 7 Credits at Level 1.
How will I learn?
Regular attendance and participation in group activities, individual tasks, and completion of a series of mainly written and oral tasks that will enable learners to achieve the learning outcomes of this course. One-to-one tutor support will be available.
What could this course lead to?
- Initial employment
- Further study at Level 1 full Business and Administration Certificate or an IT course (e.g. ITQ)
- Progression to a level 2 course e.g. Customer Service, Administration, Enterprise, or Team Leading.
What materials or equipment will I need to provide?
- Pens and notepad
- Lever arch file and plastic wallets to keep notes and handouts organised
- Dictionary
