Birmingham Adult Education Service is one of the largest providers of adult education opportunities in the United Kingdom. Each year we run nearly two thousand courses and around 10,000 learners benefit from the new skills and confidence they acquire on our wide range of courses. As part of Birmingham City Council, we have an exciting and growing programme of provision to support the employment and wellbeing agenda of our diverse and multicultural city.

At our recent Ofsted Inspection (March 2019) we were judged to be GOOD.

We are looking for new innovative, dedicated and skilled tutors to join us on our journey to becoming outstanding. If this sounds like you and you are either a newly qualified or experienced tutor with subject specialism in any of the areas below, we'd love to hear from you!

Mathematics (GCSE and Functional Skills - Entry level to level 2 | English (GCSE, Functional Skills - Entry level to level 2) and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) | Foreign Languages - Arabic, French & Japanese | Computers & ICT | Business | Accounts | Digital Media and Graphics | Arts & Crafts - Cake Decorating, Cookery, Drawing and Painting, Floristry, Food Safety, Interior Design, Jewellery Making, Photography, Sewing Skills, Upholstery & Woodwork | Family Learning | Health & Social Care | Childcare | Mental Health Awareness | Counselling | Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

Our rate of pay for Adult Learning Tutor (Sessional) is £21.42 per hour to £28.15 per hour

Basic requirements to teach for Birmingham Adult Education Service

  • You must hold a full teaching qualification
  • English and Maths qualification at Level 2
  • Right to work in the UK checks will be undertaken and an enhanced DBS check might be required.
