Duration: This course is 6 weeks long.
Content: This course provides an opportunity to understand the importance of managing anxieties and developing simple strategies to support emotional and mental wellbeing. We aim to equip learners with the right tools to bounce back in the face of change and uncertainty. Learners will be taught how to
- use different strategies to build resilience
- self-motivate themselves to reach their short and long-term goals
- find a good balance and shape a brighter future going forward
Art for Wellbeing
Duration: 6 weeks or workshop.
Content: This course aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills to be able to use basic art and music skills for your own wellbeing, as well as gaining a new hobby.
Learners will
- explore different ways of using music and art for your own wellbeing
- identify the importance of wellbeing and looking after ourselves.
Movers and Shakers
Duration: This course is 6 weeks long.
Content: This course raises awareness of physical development and the importance in developing a healthy lifestyle. Learners will learn how to
- use a range of activities focusing on different exercise activities suited for the whole family
- use strategies to enable them to make informed choices around exercising and wellbeing
Healthy Relationships
Duration: 6 weeks or workshop
Content: This course aims to provide you with the knowledge and understanding of what a healthy relationship is.
Learners will
- explore signs of good and bad relationships
- identify negative behaviour traits
- explore strategies how to improve an unhealthy relationship
Reading for Wellbeing
Duration: 6 weeks or workshop
Content: This course aims to introduce reading as a tool for improving our wellbeing.
Learners will
- read texts and discuss them in a group
- explore ways of respectfully sharing opinions based on critical thinking
Wellbeing and Mindfulness
Duration: 6 weeks or workshop
Content: This course aims to introduce Mindfulness and meditation as a tool for improving our wellbeing and resilience.
Learners will -
- use mindfulness as a tool to reduce stress and panic attacks
- use mindfulness as a tool to respond to challenges more calmly and effectively
Course requirements
Learners will need access to a tablet/laptop/smartphone or PC. They will also need an email address and access to the internet.
What could these courses lead to?
On completion of these courses all learners will receive a certificate of achievement. At the end of the course, we will provide information about other learning opportunities and courses for adults to join in the local area.
